Nyepi | The Balinese Day of Silence
Balinese Hindu will celebrate Hari Raya Nyepi Tahun Baru Saka 1937 on March 21st, 2015. Hari Raya Nyepi is celebrated as a Balinese New Year based on Hinduism and It is taken on Sasih Kedasa according to Bali Calendar. Nyepi day or known as The Balinese Day of Silence is celebrated by Balinese Hindu, on this day Balinese Hindu will do ‘Catur Brata Penyepian’. It is Bali fast-day for Nyepi, consist of four elements, such as: Amati Geni (no use or animate fire), Amati Karya (no working), Amati Lelungan (no traveling), Amati Lelanguan (no entertainment). ‘Catur Brata Penyepian’ will start before the sun rise and will finish the next day after the sun rise.
