OTONAN in Bali is celebrated as the birthday according to the Balinese calendar. It is different from the calendar in general, ie the calendar BC where the Balinese calendar in one month consist of 35 days. One ‘OTON/ WETON’ consist of six months so the total of One ‘OTON/ WETON’ is 210 days.
If the baby is six months old, it’s named one ‘WETON’. The word ‘WETON’ is derived from the word ‘WETUAN’, then be ‘WETON’, and then become ‘OTON’. The meaning of word ‘WETU’ is “to the outside or birth”. So ‘WETON’ ceremony is the anniversary of the birth. The arrival of the day ‘sapta wara’, ‘pancawara’ and ‘Pakuwon’ is every 6 months Bali/ Java, or 210 days of a 30 x 7 basis. For Hindus the day of his birth (OTONAN) will come every 210 days celebrated as the Balinese Birthday according to ‘Pawukon’ calculation.
